Trellis' Art
Trellis Payne
Paintings. Personality. Panache.
Trellis Payne is a fine artist who lives and works in Savannah, Georgia. A native of Dublin, Georgia, her bright and dynamic paintings often pay homage to her southern roots. Her distinctive style emanates joy and happiness, matching her vibrant personality and “stop and smell the roses” approach to daily life.
Sweet Georgia peaches, farm animals, coastal critters and other country living scenes are all brought to life with Trellis’ expressionistic style. In addition, she brings an extensive mastery of color theory, innate sense of rhythm and visual unity into her large abstract paintings. Her flair for creating depth in design ensures that her pieces make bold statements, as there is no holding back her love of layering and dripping paints onto canvas. As the artist explains, “I am a southern belle, through and through, and I get a kick out of creating pieces that capture the colorful ‘Hey Y’all!’ vibe of the Deep South.”
Trellis received her B.F.A. in Art at Valdosta State University where she emphasized in painting. Upon receiving her Art Education Certification from Georgia Southern University she went on to complete her M. Ed. in the Foundations of Education from Troy University. In 2002 she began her career as a high school visual arts teacher and has since taught a variety of media to students on all age levels.
Free-lancing as a professional artist since college, Trellis has completed a wide array of fine art commission works for private clients and businesses. She is proficient in multiple art mediums and primarily focuses on painting with acrylics, watercolors, and exploring various mixed media collage techniques.
